evidence-based Food education curriculum for youth
an educational and fuN experience
Are you a school or organization seeking an accurate and impactful food education curriculum for youth? We have developed a 15-lesson food education curriculum based on decades of professional and personal experience. We’ve spent the past decade working with students to understand the best way to engage them with this information. Our program has been taught to kids ranging from pre-K through high school, and the kids readily endorse these lessons! We have the support of teachers, principals, pediatricians, dieticians, and parents.
We would be delighted to discuss licensing our curriculum! We sought the guidance of educators to create a lesson plan that is rigorous enough for the classroom, yet enjoyable for any youth organization. Each lesson offers specific objectives, key takeaways, and hands-on activities to help students better grasp the material. The material will engage children with a variety of hands-on learning ideas. These lessons are an invaluable resource for classrooms and homeschool programs, community youth organizations, and teams.
Our Philosophy
Our kids will have to make choices about food every day of their lives, so let’s give them the tools to develop lifelong skills that positively impact their health. With grade-appropriate, interactive lessons, we utilize math, science, art, and numerous real-world examples to teach children and teenagers about food.
We believe:
✔︎ When learning about food, students have the opportunity to come together and apply science, math, and art.
✔︎ Students need to know where food comes from and how it’s produced.
✔︎ Students need to know how to read a label and understand what they’re eating.
✔︎ Students need to understand how food marketing influences their purchasing decisions.
✔︎ Students need to know the basics of cooking.
Work with Real Food 4 Kids
During each in-person or virtual class, a Real Food 4 Kids instructor will guide participants in tracing their favorite foods back to their origins and preparing simple snacks that can be replicated at home. They'll learn where food comes from, how it's produced, the benefits and drawbacks of processed foods, and why it's essential to read the ingredients on a food label.
