HANDS-ON ADULT + CHILD COOKING & BAKING CLASSES

OVERVIEW: You’ve asked and here it is! We’re excited to offer Adult + Child classes so that you can enjoy this fun activity together!

SKILLS: Participants do all of the work in these classes: measuring, mixing, chopping, whisking, kneading, using the stove, and using the oven, to name a few! We will incorporate some science, math, and even art along the way. And, we’ll have a whole lot of fun!!

FORMAT: These classes are all hands-on. We will make several recipes and learn as a group. Take home recipes and any leftovers.

LOCATION: Kitchen Spaces 1139 24th St, Des Moines 50312

REGISTRATION: 1 registration includes 1 adult + 1 child. You may email [email protected] to purchase additional child spots for $30 each. You may not register a child alone.

COST: $95 per adult-child pair per class.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Because we plan our class experience based on attendance, our classes are non-refundable. However, participants may send someone in their place if unable to attend.

LASAGNA WITH HOMEMADE PASTA | Sunday, April 21st | 11 AM - 1 PM | $95 per pair

• We’ll make a batch of homemade pasta dough that you can roll out using our pasta rollers or with a rolling pin! Then, we’ll make a sauce and you can make your mini pan of lasagna rolls!

CINNAMON ROLL BRUNCH | Sunday, May 19th | 11 AM - 1 PM | $95 per pair

• Each adult-child pair will make a pan of cinnamon rolls from scratch! You’ll make the dough by hand the guidance of our trained instructors, and after it rises, you’ll roll it out and fill it with buttery, sugary, cinnamon goodness. You’ll also make an optional frosting! To round out the class, we will make fruit parfaits, learning some safe cutting skills along the way (we have kid-safe knives for even the youngest fingers).

JULY 4TH FLAG CAKES | Sunday, June 30th | 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM | $95 per pair

• Get ready to celebrate our Nation’s birthday by making a Flag Cake! Each pair will make their own cake and frosting. You’ll also practice cutting up fresh berries to decorate your cake. And since ice cream goes perfectly with cake, we’ll make that, too!

BTS LUNCH & SNACKS | Sunday, August 18th | 11 AM - 1 PM | $95 per pair

• Wouldn’t it be great if your family had some more ideas for lunch and snacks when school starts back up again, to make either during the week or on the weekend? During this class, we’ll make several lunch and snack ideas that will appeal to a busy household!
